Things he Says

  • He set his (toy) frog on the edge of the ottoman and said "careful froggie."
  • He is really into basketball. He and daddy went to a high school game the other night and he instructed the players to "shooot it".
  • He yells "oh man!" and "allllll-most" when he misses his shot. Says "dunk it" when he dunks it and tells others to "shoooot it".
  • He says "Like it" while shaking his head no which means "I don't like it"
  • He is back to saying "yeppers" for "yes"
  • When we were snowed in for a while and didn't see friends, someone rang the doorbell and I asked Owen "who is it"? And he said excitedly, "friends!" Sadly, it was not friends coming over to play though.
  • Shortly after Christmas his teacher told me that he was talking all day about Santa coming and eating the cookies and the snow.
  • Grandma and Grandpa Johnson stopped by recently with three dogs and Owen's cousins. Last night, Owen sat up all of the sudden in bed and said "Grandpa doggies poop" referring, I assume to an incident where one of the dogs pooped in the playroom.
  • He remembers who gave him some of his toys and likes to tell us.
  • He's freakishly adept at using properly words like backwards, forwards, under, over, again, etc.
  • Unfortunately, he's also adept at saying "have it", "want it", "get it", and "mine".
  • He's MUCH more social now, overall, and you're much more likely to actually hear him say all of these things now than before when he'd clam-up when others were around.
