7 Months Old

Owen turned 7 months old today! It's hard to believe that he is already that old! He now weighs 17 pounds, 10 ounces and is 27.25 inches long.

Today Owen went for a ride in the backpack around Summer Lake in Tigard. We all enjoyed another day outside in the beautiful 60-degree weather we are having (in November)!

The Zoo

Today we took Owen to the Oregon Zoo for his first Zoo trip. We had a great time and perfect weather and look forward to returning many more times now that we have a zoo membership! Click below to view the full album.

Baby's First Halloween

Nothing special going on for Baby's First Halloween today. Just sporting his halloween bib. We did all of our partying last weekend.

New Clothes & Expressions

The subtle hint that Owen needed some new clothes seems to have worked. :) He received an onslaught of new apparel. Thanks to all!

I've also decided I would post a picture or two every once in a while where Owen is not smiling. Just in case you are curious to see what he looks like without a big toothless grin! :)

This bucket 'o blocks is just about his favorite toy right now. He likes to reach in and pull the blocks out ... oh and chew on the lid.

Stubb Stewart

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson and cousins Mikah and Kellen were camping at nearby Stubb Stewart State Park this past weekend. We went out to visit them and they stopped by our house as well. Here are some pictures (stolen from Grandma)!

Halloween Party!

This picture is from Owen's very first Halloween Party! We had Owen's friends over from playgroup on Friday and had a great time celebrating! We went to another Halloween Party on Saturday too and Owen is officially worn out. Especially since Grandma and Grandpa Johnson just left (along with cousins Mikah and Kellen) and Grandma and Grandpa Irving just arrived!

Likes: Long walks on the beach (or around town ... not that I do much of the actual walking), exersaucing, taste-testing items, my parents (I'm too little to know any better), toys, laughing, baths and swimming.

Dislikes: Getting dressed, being alone, shots, gravity (it's against me!), hats

Things that make me smile: Mommy singing my favorite song "Whoop, there it is!", people making animal noises (especially birds and monkeys), daddy coming home from work, the "all done" sign (mom and dad just look funny doing it), and pretty much anyone smiling at me (I'm a big hit with the general public since I'll pretty much smile at anyone any time).

Favorite foods: Sweet potatoes (my favorite! Good thing mom went overboard and made lots), milk, bananas

Least favorite foods: None. I like everything so far!

Hidden (or not-so hidden) talents: Ability to evade diaper changes, singing ability, stellar balance on my feet, my ability to always find something I'm not supposed to have and stick it in my mouth, soaking shirt after shirt with drool non-stop for 3.5 months and going, good distance on my projectile spit-up, fake coughing.

This video shows lots of my skills: First, I can sit up like a big boy real well now. Second, I drool like crazy still but am not getting any teeth yet (despite what everyone who sees me likes to predict!). Also, I like to flap my arms wildly. And I can kinda sing! I'm pretty talented, I know!

If it looks like I got in a fight under my eye, it's because I did. I just knocked out my toy table. Mommy's not real happy about it though because tomorrow is portrait day.

Spinnin'

Here are some pictures of Owen on his Spin & Explore Gym that Grandpa and Grandma Johnson got him. He's very good now at spinning himself all the way around (and drooling while he's at it)!
