Vomit & Poop Stories
Hope these stories brighten your day! ;-)
1.
As we started to head home from our Oregon Coast trip yesterday Owen suddenly started vomiting in the back seat. I could see fountains of milk projecting out of Owen's mouth and instructed (OK, demanded!) Travis PULL OVER! I jumped out, opened the door and was absolutely astounded at the puddle of vomit that covered Owen and filled the carseat. Travis went into the small store we'd pulled over by and bought a roll of papertowels. Out of clothes from our trip, Owen was changed into pajamas. We cleaned it up the best we could at the time, and drove, windows rolled down to the nearest Safeway where we bought some cleaner and Febreeze! We drove over to the Pig'N'Pancake for breakfast and I did my best to clean out the chunks of vomit that were wedged in every single crevice of the carseat (turns out, there are A LOT of crevices!) and sprayed the whole car down with Febreeze! Man, did it smell. We made it home after breakfast (2 hours later) and washed and hosed out the seat. Yuck!
2.
This morning, Owen was playing by himself in his room in just his diaper. I was on the computer which is just outside his bedroom door. I was very into something I was doing and he came up to me and handed me something... I did not pay any attention and he went down the hall. As I finished up what I was doing, I turned to see what he was grunting about. He was climbing into the laundry basket full of clean, white sheets and towels. I got up to get him out of it, when I realized he no longer had a diaper on. "Where did your diaper go!?" I asked. I pulled him out of the sheets to see them covered in POOP! I looked back at the computer to find his dirty diaper ... which was what he had handed me while I was on the computer. I went in his room to find smudges of poop as well. :-( I guess I can't take a second for myself, after all!

Newest Developments
- Owen still has a cough! We can't believe it! And has yet another bad diaper rash. :-(
- He gives kisses ... very occasionally.
- He thinks all birds are ducks.
- He gets really excited and yells "dog" when he sees one but generally doesn't want it to come too near him.
- He says "tickle,tickle,tickle!"
- It's becoming clear that he understands A LOT more words than he can say or sign.
- We have to spell certain things in front of him because if we say the word, he'll want it (i.e. bath, bottle).
- He spins ... and expects applause ... and sometimes applauds himself.
- He throws tantrums. :-(
- He's learned how to say "no" :-( (we were hoping to delay the learning of that word) and it sounds like "nah"
- If he does something he knows he is not supposed to, he shakes his head and says "nah, nah, nah" while he does it.
